Paint and Polymer Examination
NOTE: THE PAINT AND POLYMER EXAMINATION WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERED AFTER DECEMBER 31, 2022. If you wish to be certified in Paints and Polymers, you must successfully complete the examination prior to December 31, 2022. The Paint and Polymer Examination is designed for an examiner who has worked in the field of forensic analysis of paints and/or polymers for at least two years and who is authorized to perform casework in the forensic analysis of paint and/or polymers.
The examination consists of 200 questions, plus 20 pilot questions. A portion of these examination questions are general in nature while a portion are specific to paint and polymer analysis.
The examination lasts up to 3 hours.
