Affiliates
The American Board of Criminalistics affords the opportunity for candidates to sit for an examination prior to attaining the full experience requirements of certification. These candidates are considered certification eligible and are identified as Affiliates. Affiliate status is currently available for the following certifications:
Candidates interested in becoming an Affiliate follow the same certification application process found on our Application Process page.
Affiliates will be notified that they have passed an examination and will be given information regarding the steps necessary to become certified.
NOTE: In preparation of the ABC pursuing ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation and discontinuation of some certification exams at the end of this year, the Affiliate Status will be ending at the end of 2022. The Affiliate Status is in conflict with the work experience required for the new certification schemes. Additionally, taking a certification exam without meeting the experience requirement may be in violation of ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation. If you are currently an Affiliate, you will be given the remainder of your five years to obtain the required two years of experience and apply for full certification.
