Ethics and Other Complaints
If you think an ABC Certificate Holder, candidate or Affiliate has committed an ethics violation or have another complaint, please report that suspected ethics violation or complaint to the ABC as soon as possible.
Rules of Professional Conduct
Please review a copy of the Rules of Professional Conduct (09-0001F) to determine which rule was violated and how.
Complaints
All complaints concerning the professional conduct of a candidate, certificate holder or Affiliate of the American Board of Criminalistics must be submitted in writing to the ABC Registrar at:
ABC Registrar
P.O. Box 418
Gardiner, ME 04345
The letter must state the following:
The Registrar acknowledges receipt of the letter of complaint by Registered Mail to the complainant (that individual or organization by whom a complaint has been made concerning professional conduct) within 14 days of receipt.
Complaints may be made anonymously, however an anonymous complaint could hinder the investigation if further information is needed. If adequate information is not provided and the ABC does not have a means to contact the Complainant or other resources to obtain the information, the Ethics Chair may suspend the investigation.
If you need additional information or would like to better understand the ABC procedure for Complaints, please read the ABC Complaints Procedure
(09-01).
